in Credit cards
Hi There
Hope this is a quick answer question from someone
I have just opened a 15 month no balance transfer and 15 months on purchases.
If I pay off my Argos card with the card will I still have no interest to pay for the 15 months? Will this be seen as a purchase? Or do i need to call the bank to arrange?
TIA

You can transfer the balance of any store, or credit card to the new card and have 15 months interest free, and will only pay a small balance transfer fee to on top.
Some cards only allows you to transfer a balance within the first period of opening the card, say 1 month, 3 months so just ask them to make sure as you have already opened it by the sound of your comment.

You will have 15 months from the time your card was agreed, to pay it off in full, and that will cost you nothing in interest. If you don't pay it off in time you may be liable for all the interest for the 14½-odd months. Do yourself a favour, and don't also keep using the Argos card. It is a well-worn trap, where people shift the balance to a new card and then spend up on the original one again.1

An Argos card is a store card, so you can't transfer the balance. Also Argos card only accept card payments via a debt card.CharlotteO1402 said:Hi There

Your options are:
- Use a Money transfer offer to your bank account then pay off your Argos via your debit card.
- Depending on what credit card you have, pay with a Curve Card, it should show as a purchase. (I done i've done it many times , I even get Curve cash)1 -
No you can't. Not all store cards are accepted for BT's...Paully28 said:You can transfer the balance of any store, or credit card to the new card and have 15 months interest free, and will only pay a small balance transfer fee to on top.

Sorry, yes true, but I am sure the newer argos cards have a 16 digit number so can.D3xt3r5L4b said:

I've never heard of a credit card that operates like this. I know Buy Now Pay Later and "Interest Free" offers on items usually do, but not credit cards. Do you have any examples of those that do?yksi said:If you don't pay it off in time you may be liable for all the interest for the 14½-odd months.0 -
I think your getting confused, there's two cards that have Argos branding (Store card and credit card)Paully28 said:

Argos Store Card
Argos Classic Card (Newday)1 -
Thanks everyone.
I wont be using the Argos card again - as i had moved into a new house - and had no furniture - to be fair there is not much left on it to pay, just the Interest free runs out in January. I am now thinking to use my holiday savings to pay it all off.
As Christmas is fast approaching i could give myself a little bit of a breather, so my thinkin was to utilize the interest free for a few more months.
Its the store card i have and not the Newday one - so only has 15 numbers - not the 16.

Do all of your normal spending on the new card ie food, petrol, clothing etc - which should leave you with spare cash in your current account to pay Argos off?CharlotteO1402 said:Thanks everyone.

That’s a credit card. Not a store card.Paully28 said:
