Morning all.
TA, good luck with the furniture moving. My mother was a great furniture mover, bless her. She didn't have much scope in a small bungalow, but we frequently came back from school to find everything in a different place.
I don't take after her. My furniture grows roots. Even things that have been dumped down 'just for the time being.'
AOD. Cleaning the oven!! My most unfavourite job. Commiserations.
Gers, have a nice visit and your mother is lucky. A buffet breakfast sounds most attractive.
Bella, you make it sound as though cleaning the floors is a huge treat. Fancy 'saving it' so that you have something to do today.
Hester, fingers crossed you get your hearing aid ba k quickly.
ScarletRibbons, Good luck with finding your countertops. My kitchen is all white with wooden knobs and handles. Someone said that they thought it would look too clinical and 'show the dirt.
Now I am an expert in hiding the dirt. In fact I have degrees in 'dirt hiding'. But not in the kitchen and bathroom, two rooms where I like it to be sparkly clean. And with a few colourful bits of junk around it doesn't look a bit clinical.
TA, ouchie on the sewing and I am all in favour of cake and coffee as a meal. Scrumptious.
Nelski, how about mixing the syrup, sauce and vinegar together and marketing it as an exotic marinade. Fortnum and Mason might be interested. You could make a fortune.
And that's as far as it goes, though doubtless another 6 posts have arrived while I've been tapping this out.
I made marmalade yesterday and all the peel floated to the top. As a punishment I stood all the jars on their heads overnight. To no avail, the peel is still stubbornly stuck to the tops of the jars. I was going to give them away but my pride couldn't stand the disgrace.
Today I'm tackling the spare room. I might well encounter Dr Livingstone in there somewhere. If I don't appear again please send a search party.
Don't know what I'm eating today. Toast and marmalade probably.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Never regret anything that made you smile.

Morning all, quite nice & bright here today but it's not expected to last.Just nice to have a respite after 2 days of almost constant rain
The birds seem very active on my table too, which is nice.I've done a few little jobs in the kitchen before I sat down at the laptop as I'm finding I can waste half the morning, especially since getting the digital newspaper. One of the messier jobs was weighing out my bread flour in 500g into individual boxes,it means I can just grab and get on with it quickly. Of course I would be wearing a black T shirt today wouldn't I
nmlc- your spa sounds lovely - enjoy!Nelski - I think I might go down the omelette route tonight too.Yesterday we had something out of the meat pack my lovely NDNeighbour left on the doorstep- I spotted that he was collecting his on the butchers FB page, sent him a quick text to see if he'd get mine too,as DH was working in the opposite direction. They would deliver, but it's saved an extra trip.I'm going to make a start on making some Xmas cards for my 'special' family/friends, I ordered a pack of 3 new die cuts which came yesterday so I'm looking forward to trying those out. Have a pleasant day everyone x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12 -

Morning all, our weather seems in a loop as we have rain again. While I waited for Mr Fix It to have his jab I sat in the car park people watching and trying to do a crossword. The leisure centre is based at the entrance to a large park in the borough and I was mesmerised to see a continuous stream of people walk past with children and/or dogs. The play park was full too, it was more like Casey's court than a lockdown situation
No wonder we're in such a mess this time round.
I feel like I've been dreaming all night, not bad ones but weird ones and now I can't get going, I'm just sitting here and I had plans for today. Nothing exciting but I need to put things away in their rightful places, the van cushions and the hamper basket for a start, but I know that it will entail moving other things before that can be done. I also wanted to get my xmas card making stuff out and see what's what. I don't think I need to buy anything for a long time yet and I only bought things that were half price or less after the event, so my hoarding is starting to pay offHowever I need someone to give me a push please.
Tea tonight will be something easy, there's still plenty to choose from in the freezer.Hope everyone has a goodish day.Take care all, stay safe and keep wellnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -
Rain again. Lists being written Chez Nous. We have decided to move to nearer our daughters in the South West. Well the decision was made several years ago, the action is now taking place. Nearly 40 years worth of carp to sift through. Includes other people's stuff too... eek A full blown case of procrastination or eventually roundtoit. Estate agents calling this week for valuation. If you like sorting out stuff, or are a MarieKondo, you would have a field day here and be MOST WELCOME. As it is we stop for coffee every three minutes whilst moving things around.Freezer is full of sausages and minced beef, Tosco yellow stickers, yum.10
