Nine
times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to
your MP, sometimes it can lead to cancellation.,
Parliament
is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of
whom are former clampers. On 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to
curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being
drawn up, and hopefully this will become law shortly

Britannia Car Park Fine

At 26.04.20 I went to the Britannia car park for 25 minutes not even knowing that it is a private car park as all the others around are the city councils. Because it was the beginning of lockdown city councils car parks were free so I presumed that one was free to. At 25.09.20 they sent me a letter asking me to pay 160pounds. I never got the ticket because my car's logbook wasn't updated (it is updated now). I appealed to that letter but as an answer, they send me a lot of pictures of my car in that car park. Now is 6 months since it happened. Is there any option not to pay that?

you can take your chances in court, they can issue a court claim within 6 yearsthe actual charge does not change from £100 , so a loss in court is about £2002

No-one pays these.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Who told you that you owe £160 ..... they lied. Was it Britannia or a debt collector.dana344 said:At 26.04.20 I went to the Britannia car park for 25 minutes not even knowing that it is a private car park as all the others around are the city councils. The Britannia said to pay to them. Is there any chance to use the time period (6 months) as a reason not to pay?beamerguy said:

DO NOT PAY
Only £100 is allegedly owed , the debt collector recovery cost of the additional £60 is not owed and never was1 -
Why are you asking for reasons not to pay - this is basic stuff - you won't be PAYING!
Have you missed the fact that Britannia generally have an issue with their landowner authority being in the wrong name?

DO NOT PAY
Did you get debt collectors before ?
Just wait, see what happens. Britannia have a bad habit of passing the details to a dodgy legal which of course does them good thanks to this forum1 -
THE REASON YOU DO NOT PAY IS THAT, UNLESS A JUDGE SAYS OTHERWISE, THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM YOU.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1
