Are the tracking issues caused by the spec of the laptop? I thought those things needed fairly hefty computers to be any good...0

Apparently using a converter doesn't work with the rift s, as I did look into that.0

Can anyone answer if it is right that the refund offered for the original item is only via gift card not by the original payment method, even though we had the full receipt showing debit card payment.0
-
You could have insisted on the refund being back to the same method as payment. As you accepted their offer of a gift card for the refund then it's now too late unfortunately. So even if you return the Rift S for a refund at best you'll get it back as the £70 you paid plus the balance to a new gift card.0

You accepted that. Yes it can be right as you are currently claiming under their goodwill policy not your consumer rights as you have no proved an inherent fault.Bexxy4573 said:Can anyone answer if it is right that the refund offered for the original item is only via gift card not by the original payment method, even though we had the full receipt showing debit card payment.0 -
But we didn't get a gift card, they charged £70 to our debit card and took the old item off as a return, so the £399.99 total was reduced by the returned faulty item of £329.99. That is what the receipt shows. It does not show a gift card payment, as hubby refused that as was told he would get much less via gift card refund, but could pay extra to get a similar item with the full cost of the original taken off. They insisted that any refund, as well as being pro rata, could only be on a gift card, which would be useless as can only be spent at argos.0

So if you took it back and happened to deal with someone who doesn't know the history of the transactions, would they just refund to your debit card?Bexxy4573 said:But we didn't get a gift card, they charged £70 to our debit card and took the old item off as a return, so the £399.99 total was reduced by the returned faulty item of £329.99. That's what I was wondering, as that seems much easier than hoping they still have our original one and fighting with occulus to get it repaired, as the replacement is useless, but we also don't want to be left with a useless gift card as we don't really shop at argos, in fact this was the last thing we bought nearly a year ago! We also don't have the budget to buy something else with a gift card, and then have to pay in full for a different vr headset.0
