Newly converted Virgin Money branches - full service?

I have a passbook based savings account with Virgin Money, which I previously operated in their old-style (ex Northern Rock) branch. This branch has now closed, and I’ve been told I can go to the nearby Yorkshire Bank branch which has been rebranded as Virgin Money.

However, will I be able to run the account in exactly the same way, eg with a passbook and withdraw money by cheque? I suspect the change is just the name above the door, but the staff and systems inside will still be Yorkshire Bank so not know how to handle these old fashioned savings accounts.

Anyone had any experiences of this?

I haven't, as I'm keeping away from busy places, but I suspect that the staff from the old store have moved to the new one, to be able to handle the legacy systems.

Certainly, when I was discussing the merger with Virgin staff while opening a passbook regular saver, they didn't seem worried about job losses.

Also the Yorkshire Bank staff will have had further training on Virgin systems.

Judging by the photos on Facebook, the staff are now wearing the Virgin Money uniforms, presumably it's now one bank on the surface and so staff will have some idea when dealing with Virgin Money accounts.
