Home Insurance - No Claims Discount

I have lived in my current house for 30 years+, during which time I have never made a claim for either buildings or contents cover.

Having to switch insurers this year as Aviva I'm afraid are now taking a lend with my renewals premium.

Each year I have had the Aviva renewal notice it has showed a 5 years NCD entitlement which goes back circa 6 years when I first switched to them.

I have now accepted a superior quote from another insurer which is considerably cheaper on the basis of a 9 year NCD entitlement which I will have to evidence.

It was my intention to simply send in copies of the last 5 years renewal notices with Aviva, but it occurred to me that there may be a better way of evidencing a 30+ year no claims history, hence posting on this forum.

Would welcome observations from others who might have a better way of dealing with this issue. TIA

It is highly unlikely you would get a continuing discount by proving an even longer no claims discount. If the insurer saw this as a factor for their quotes they would ask for a longer history of no claims.
There's more insurers who are no longer applying NCD's to home insurance quotes and simply base the premium on whether there have been any claims in the last 5-years so even for first time home owners they can get the best premiums as they've no past claims history.
