no you don't, you can submit 20/21 tax return at 00:01 hours on 6th April 2021 (6 months time 😀 )garmeg said:
So I have to wait a year then.
It would however be wise not to trust HMRC computers to be up to coping with that, so a few days later would be wiser.0 -
If you want it now and are in PAYE, you can get your tax code changed so will get over this year, most at the next payday after the code gets changed. Log onto your personal tax account and there's an option somewhere to request a change to your tax code, or phone them.Obviously you need to put it on your SA for 20/21 as well.1

I can submit my returns in April 2021 so i may as well wait. I usually wait til October because that was the old deadline if you want HMRC to calculate the tax for you.zagfles said:If you want it now and are in PAYE, you can get your tax code changed so will get over this year, most at the next payday after the code gets changed. No problem submitting sooner.
Just hoping the P60s arrive promptly to do this, that's all.
i just need to put the £312 in the work expense section as i couldnt see anything about working from home in the tax return that looked like the section illustrated in Martin's article.0 -
