Exactly one year later for date of Death in the London Gazette

Hi, probably a strange question, would there be a reason why a date of death would appear exactly one year later than the actual death of a family member in the London Gazette notices section, (died 2018, date of death in the paper 2019)? Could there be CGT and IHT implications, relating to land, that was sold to a major building company, only a couple of years earlier?

The date of death is the date of death. When it appears in the Gazette is irrelevant to CGT/IHT implications. Quite normal to post some time after the death, especially if sorting out the estate (or indeed sorting out who is sorting out!) has taken its time. You don't place the notice until you have obtained probate - see https://www.thegazette.co.uk/wills-and-probate/what-to-do-after-someone-dies0

Probably an error.
Executor can do the gazette notice with a death certificate before grant is issued.0
