Hello fellow techies
is there a limit on how many cctv cameras a domestic property can install inside a window? I was thinking one pointing one way and another pointing another way to make sure all angles are covered.
having problems with a neighbour ( the other side moved house cos of them) and would like to make sure I am not breaking any legal requirements at all.

Technically speaking IIRC you can only film within the bounds of your own property, so if you set one up to observe what the neighbours are doing, that falls fowl of data protection/GDPR. There may be an exception if a camera happens to point onto a public highway but the bulk of what it can see should be looking at your property/land. If the neighbour comes and and kicks your car on your drive for example, that's fine, but if you film him kicking somebody else's car on their property, its technically not yours to film, AIUI.With regards to installing a camera inside a window, do be advised that if your camera has night vision on it, you won't see anything through the window after dark, since the window will be full of reflection from the night vision light. You can't see this light with your eyes.0

But there isn’t anything stopping me from having a camera and not having it turned on?
if it’s just a visible camera hopefully it will act as a deterrent !Be happy, it's the greatest wealth

Nothing wrong that, you see dummy cameras for sale.welshmoneylover said:But there isn’t anything stopping me from having a camera and not having it turned on?

If its a dummy camera you can do what you like with it, its an entirely different thing if it doesn't actually record anything (much like the presence of a security light that comes on every time you walk past is just a deterrent but ultimately won't stop anybody if they're that fussed). If anybody comes knocking saying somebody's ran over the cat and your camera might have captured the event, just say the camera's a dummy, it doesn't record anything.0
