refund from Disneyland paris?

Hi,

We booked to go to Disneyland this Friday (30th october) back in august, we booked a entry only ticket plus travel to and from the resort. Obviously due to the 2 week quarantine period set by the UK government we can no longer go as I cannot take the time off work.

I spoke to customer services and the long and short of it is that we cannot get a refund, I looked on their website and its not clear, it says you can if you booked a hotel/entry package but doesn't specifically say that as we booked "entry only" we were not entitled. We paid on a credit card (if that makes any difference).

we do have travel insurance but it did not cover any covid related scenarios

Is there anything we can do?

I hate Disney at the best of times (it was really for my other half) now I despise them!

    Thanks anyway.

Could you ask them if you could move it to next year and try and save losing your money that way?

  • To be fair to them, you booked a specific product for a specific day and that is still open - the UK's requirements aren't the concerns of a company operating in France.
I'd see if they'll move it for you.

Let us know how you get on OP, it could help other posters in the same situation to know its possible for a booking to be moved.
  • thanks, I will enquire today and let you know
  • ok well, update.
Turns out i was too busy to call them today so was going to do it tomorrow however France has gone into national lockdown from Friday (the date of the booking) with essential shops open only meaning they now HAVE to refund me (and if not i have section 75 protection)
In times like these, its the small victories which count!
