There's supposedly a Game PS5 drop tomorrow morning between 9 and 12.

The actual online restocks happen around 03:00.

I think you're thinking of Argos?
They release at 3am usually and get them delivered the same day, Game are basically a pre-order for stock they have coming in on the 16th.

Once the government or the retailers come up with a clear plan to deal with the scalpers the stock should slowly stat to build up.

Well, I was right about the Game drop

stayed awake till 4am on monday night after like a million times refeshing the Argos page finally my order went through and got order no. and comfirmation email and money was took straight away from me credit card. Went to sleep woke up at 11am to find email from Argos "we have cancelled your order as there was not enough stock"

With Argos I think you're supposed to get the App,  find the PS5 and add it to your wishlist ... then you can go to your wishlist and move it from there to your cart. (You can't do this on the website, only on the Argos app).
Then when Argos do drop, you already have it in your cart so it's just a race to checkout if it's available in your area.

The issue is really nothing to do with scalpers, it is a supply and demand issue. Scalpers are not sat on tens of thousands of PS5s and XSXs, they are nor hoarding stock, the issue is that the supply of units is far below demand, as it also is with CPUs and GPUs. Availability will only improve when supply is closer to demand, through improved supply, decreased demand, or a combination of both.
