As for PS5 availability, give Game a try, email says they have limited stock on launch day to order but will only be available on day of launch.

Keep an eye out with GAME this week, as the pre-order payments will be processed. Anyone who's payment fails may go back on to the website (after presumably some grace period). Those who pre-order for in-store pickup were told to fully pay up by last week (due to new lockdown), so some of those may have been canceled too (due to missing payment).

I find it crazy that we are on one hand saying how everyone is struggling financially, yet the ps5 is sold out before it even goes on sale. Everyone is up in arms about the government refusing to extend the child food vouchers. Yet the PS5 costing over £400 is sold out.
I bet some families pleading poverty will still find the money for a PS5. They will be up in arms at the government not providing resources to feed their children, but will
find the money to buy a games console.
The money they have borrow to buy the PS5 will not be paid back, they will be on the debt free wannabes site pleading for help to get out debt.
They will get sympathy and people telling them that they don’t need to pay it back.
Yet the honest family’s who are sensible, and who know they cannot afford the PS5, will say the person is silly for getting into debt, will
get hammered on the boards for not being nice. You couldn’t make it up.

I got given an Xbox one by someone who upgraded and my kids are over the moon, it's all relative.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Rather annoying post based on very few facts. To suggest that (dishonest?) families struggling in the pandemic are out buying PS5's instead of feeding their family is just outrageous. Don't think anyone is saying everyone is struggling financially - I'm not. Financially the pandemic has been great for me. Not so good in other ways.

"You couldn't make it up" - you just did.

We are not saying how everyone is struggling financially, some people are, some people are doing better than before, a lot have seen no real change.

There are more of those that can afford it than the supply, that has nothing to do with free school meal vouchers.

That kind of behaviour has always existed, the same with junk food, alcohol, gambling, expensive trainers, previous consoles, large TVs, new cars, premium TV packages etc.

Some will, most will have been purchased by normal, decent people and paid for upfront.

Only a few on here are the kind who tell people not to repay their debts, most are about teaching people how to repay their debts, not avoid paying.

  • I tried joining the hoard to grab they early releases without luck. At this point, I'm just going to wait it out until I can pick one up easily. Maybe I'll wait for a nice special edition or something. I hope you manage to get one though.

Just so you’re aware I’ve seen suggestions there won’t be plentiful stock until at least June. It is insane given the console was released in November but then again it’s not exactly normal circumstances.
