To report precisely what? They of course have nothing better to do than involve themselves in civil disputes.Coveredinbees!!!! said:Go to the policeNo free lunch, and no free laptop

There have been posts on this very site from those who have. There are other posts from those where the registered keeper is not the owner. I have not counted how many. Do you have verifiable statistics to prove I am wrong?Were_Doomed said:

Many do and it could have avoided the situation OP now finds himself in.neilmcl said:
The car belongs to his mum. I wouldn't want to buy a car from a person who is not the registered keeper and at a different address.missile said:I can understand why your parents might be concerned may turn up on their doorstep. It might have been better if you had given seller your address and phone number.
Whatever you might think, it seems OP lives with parents so this is a pointless discussion......."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

With all due respect, you're the one who made the assertion thus it is incumbent on you to provide proof.missile said:

But "the mechanic" hasn't stated that the clutch has gone but simply that it will break within the next week.facade said:On the other hand, if the clutch really is gone.........0 -
Always sell a car using a cheap pay as you go SIM card - then once the buyer leaves, the SIM goes in the bin.Not useful now I know, but handy for any future sales.1

We are not in a court of law, we are all on a free interest forum. No one has to provide proof of anything, just give opinions.Were_Doomed said:

But what happens if they withhold their number or call from a different phone? I know that you can block calls from withheld numbers but does this work for messages? and even if it does, not everyone want to block withheld numbers.macman said:

If they wanted to make life difficult, they could easily get a load of free sim cards and call up on a regular basis and when the number gets blocked, simply switch to a new one.0 -
They’re trying to have you over, OP; it’s probably a well trodden path for those people, and the more you engage with them the more confident they’ll be that their persistence will eventually pay-off.
I wonder what they’re up to today?; perhaps taking a whole trolley full of empty food cartons back to ASDA to take advantage of their “Love Me or your money back” offer.

They will get bored and give up or start court proceedings. I doubt it will be the latter.0
