What small DFW things will you do this week 26/10

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Thanks to Ziggy for starting us off

Sorry for being awol at the weekend again. I seem to just get far too absorbed in whatever "big" jobs have been put on hold all week to keep on top of any small things. Big news this weekend was that our new mattress was delivered. It's HUGE. I feel like the princess and the pea! Also answered a FB marketplace ad to get some free slabs for under the allotment shed (to be bought). Assumed that they would be normal 12" flags. Nope. Huge great concrete slabs! They were so heavy, I ould only just lift the heaviest (estimate 50kg). OH is strong though but we then had to take them to the allotment in the dark. Not the most successful endeavour.
On to today... gyms open again here in LCR so did the 6am class. I do not recommend doing 100 burpees before breakfast
Almost had a very non-dfw moment on the way out of the gym... there are cars parked tightly around the entrance as we've had issues with travellers parking their caravans in the car park. Managed to gently side bump one of them on the way out! Got out and checked and as far as I could see, not even a hint of paint transfer so hopefully no problems.
Today is work. Must take ebay parcel to PO at lunch time (do not want to as it's miserable out there today). The make tea and finish up a crochet comission whilst watching the lat event from the CrossFit Games. Been good this year although it's a shame that Fraser and Toomey run away with the win so easily. I like to see a bit of competition!
Have a good one all

Thanks for starting the thread off @ziggy2407 😊 (and @carrielovesfanta ! 😉)
Today I am re-purposing leftovers from yesterday for dinner and will be making some oatmilk as I'm nearly out of soya milk and I'm determined not to do any grocery shopping this week!
I've done a meal plan using only freezer and cupboard stuff and have given dh strict instructions not to poo into any shops to get things he thinks we 'need' - if we don't have it, we'll be substituting or doing without! 😉
Glad the mattress is good @carrielovesfanta and despite the fact that a forklift would have come in handy, well done on the free paving slabs! 🙌5 -

😂😂😂 it's a typo...honest!! 😉😂carrielovesfanta said:smushesma said:and have given dh strict instructions not to poo into any shops
I should hope so too
Also forgot to add that dh made some instant porridge up for his breakfasts - he sometimes buys those ones you get in a pot (the cheap version admittedly 😉) but they still add up....so using a bag of gifted porridge oats, he whizzed some up, added some powdered milk, sugar, cinnamon and dehydrated apples - did a test run at the weekend and it worked really well! 🙌 another few quid a month saved 😉6 -
Thanks for a shiny new thread.
I have taken leave this week.
Made a start on the painting, l'm counting that as money saving as l'm not paying someone else to do it 😂
Sadly one of the arms fell off my glasses this morning. I needed a new pair two prescription ago so l think the universe is trying to tell me something. Glasses direct it is!
Planning a day out tomorrow so will be making lunch to take.
Put a jumper on over putting the heating on.
This week l am going to dig my leeks up and make soup in the slow cooker. They look a bit small but hey ho. They are in a tub after the slugs ate all our lockdown lettuce 😂 we were very annoyed at the time, only one stalk left. Wonder what was wrong with that bit!5 -
