Bad credit from Vodafone mistake!

I had a problem with Vodafone in 2015. Long story short i had a Ipad on a contract, it ended and instead of the monthly rolling contract carrying on i wanted to cancel it. Instead vodafone cancelled that and my mobile phone contract. This ended up with them issuing me with a roughly £500 early termination fee. I tried to sort this many times and it wasnt sorted. I didnt pay my bill as i was trying to sort it. This resulted in myself getting poor credit report until i went to the financial ombudsman to sort. It got resolved. Vodafone admitted it was their fault they paid a little compensation and that was it. But now im am applying for mortgage i have been left with very bad credit! (Never had a loan, never been in debt) making it very hard for me to get a mortgage. I have been trying to get it removed from my account and have been in contact with vodafone to try and get it removed but they really dont want to deal with me and keep making up excuses. Anyone have any idea what i could try next? Thanks

Raise an official complaint with Vodafone using their complaints code of practice0

My Husband had this from 2016- he rang and they were looking into it. January 2019 CCJ issued. First we heard was December 2019 when a bailiff turned up. We paid immediately but now it's a mark against his name and will be a nightmare to get a mortgage (I'm trying to leave it as long as possible)0

I had a defaulted account with Vodafone and spent hours and hours on the phone as they were trying to charge me £3500 for lines which they shouldn’t have took about 6 months but they cleared the balance but refused to remove the default. If it was my only default I would have pursued it but as there were other issues at the time I left it and put my energy elsewhere but Vodafone customer service is terrible and you have to Keep on at them constantly to get something done. Don’t sit back and believe they’re dealing with it chase them once a week until it’s sorted.0

Those bloody iPad data contracts, took an age for Vodafone to stop chasing me for money I didn't owe long after the contract was officially ended in 2016. Something to do with a system switch over on their side meaning that everything looked closed but wasn't.
Counted my blessings that I didn't get late credit markers to deal with on top of everything, but it went on for months and months0
