Nhs staff parking fines at hospital

Hi would like some advice am on here because we are a group of midwives working who work for a London Trust. We have all received parking tickets while we are working. Some of us have received County Court forms with fines of over £1500 for 3 tickets from dcb legal on behalf of first parking LLB. If they are not paid within 14days we will have ccj's for doing our job. Its just so unfair that staff get tickets while trying to keep the nhs going. Any advice out there what we can do to get help with matter thanks

    We agree with you

But It's pay up or defend if any of you have a court claim

If you are defending , each person should read the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum , 4th thread down , reading post 2 , also reading the template defence that was recently updated by coupon mad

You should be complaining about this to the trust , plus getting the union involved , especially quoting the NHS guidelines from a few years ago

Plus you should all be complaining to your MP,s too

    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/nhs-patient-visitor-and-staff-car-parking-principles/nhs-patient-visitor-and-staff-car-parking-principles

You should all bear in mind what happened a couple of years ago at UHCW Cardiff hospital where they lost in court to Indigo

    https://www.nursingtimes.net/news/hospital/cardiff-hospital-nurses-lose-car-parking-charge-court-case-17-07-2017/

We will need issue dates from each claim form for advice on deadlines

Post redacted copies of the letters of forms so we can see what stages these are at

Are there 14 days left or were you given 14 days from the date on the DCB letter?  Are you sure it's DCB Legal as opposed to DCB Limited?

Send an email to Piers Morgan as he was on the warpath about frontline staff being hounded by private parking companies during the COVID pandemic.  Have you involved your local press?  The Daily Mail will definitely be interested.

You must make as much noise as possible.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Those of you who have claim forms MUST now acknowledge the claims to buy more time to defend (see NEWBIES thread) AOS stage is in a simple pictogram document that you can share with everyone else, but make sure they ALL come here because you also have to then defend within a further 14 days.

Basically, acknowledging doubles your defence time but you must still defend.  And we have a template defence for you all, too!

Ask the Trust  for a copy of the contract with the invoice issuers under FoI via email. You do not have to give your real name but you cannot use M Mouse D Duck etc
Private Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA :D

Or get a friend who isn't a member of staff to do the request.

To add, also ask was the standard NHS  goods & services contract used. If not, the document that authorised the use of a non NHS contract
