Charitable Giving of Stamp Duty 'Windfall'
Myself and my family moved house just after the Stamp Duty holiday came into being. We had budgeted for the Stamp Duty and so consider the holiday a 10k Windfall. We would like to give £1k to charity, and would like to know the best possible way to make the most of this. Any ideas?

Generally, give direct to the charity rather than through an online platform - not all charities have details of how to give direct on their website because of the risks of posting their bank account details online, but if you phone them you will probably be able to get their bank details, or you may prefer to send a cheque.
And then do Gift Aid, if you can.
Note, I've got nothing against the online platforms, and feel they earn the fees they charge because they will then handle the Gift Aid, and the money arrives promptly in our work account. But if you give £1000 direct to a charity, they'll have £1000 PLUS Gift Aid (if relevant), whereas if you go through a platform they'll have slightly less than £1000 plus Gift Aid.Signature removed for peace of mind1
