I must have dreamt it, or more likely saw it as a policy term on another type of insurance. I have had a look at some specimen policy documents on line and as you say 10-14 days seems to be quite common. I feel a bit more confident now about shopping around.

Our normally healthy spaniel has just had back surgery, cost £7k  our insurance covered £5k we paid the rest. Now any more back problems are not covered so worried about that.
