Question regarding Arnold Clark Finance

Hey,
Back in July I applied for car finance at an Arnold Clark dealership. I'm young so the the first application was with a guarantor and that was declined. However, the second application (for the same car) without a guarantor was somehow approved and I received the Arnold Clark order pack through outlining the monthly cost, collection date and a box to sign etc. Later on in the day of receiving that document, I got a phone call from the salesman saying the finance company (Vauxhall Finance) changed their mind and wanted a guarantor - so I provided one with good history and a healthy income. Then after submitting this, it was somehow declined and the car in question was sold the next morning. Is there anything to be suspicious off, or do finance companies change their mind like this?
