McDonald’s fine

Hi all

Got a fine for overstaying in McDonald’s but called and they have said to call back next month (due to monthly limit) and they will email to get fine overturned. They didn’t ask for receipt or details but I paid in cash and didn’t keep receipt will they check cctv or just email with car reg for cancellation?

TIA

I think that the person you spoke to at McDonald's would be best placed to answer those questions.

    It is not a fine.
What is the name of the PPC please?
Have you read the sticky thread for NEWBIES that asks everyone to read it first? This will answer most of your questions.
Make sure the vehicle keeper speaks to the manager of McD's in person and give them a copy of the PCN. Make a note of the manager's name. A 'phone call is not worth the paper on which it is writ.
If they can't or won't cancel it within the appeal deadline, then send the appeal template in blue text from the first post of the NEWBIES. Send it unaltered, from the keeper.
Do not miss the appeal deadline.
Do not reveal the driver's identity, not even to the McD's manager.
Get pics of the site and signage in case it is one of the litigious parking companies that revel in taking people to court.
In future, eat somewhere else that isn't infested by a private parking scammer.

It is not a fine. have you not read the newbies?

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, sometimes it can lead to cancellation.,

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers. On 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, and hopefully this will become law shortly

If they have a "monthly limit" (on THIER land with a contractor THEY appoint) what do you suppose their reply might be next month probably, oh sorry you're too late, unbelievable how they let the tail wag the dog!
You still must try though of course, please read the newbies thread as advised.
This is not and never will be a "fine" it's an invoice that a jumped up profiteering scumpany secretly wants you to think is a fine, they frighten more victims that way.
Why on earth do you think they would trawl through hours and hours of CCTV footage looking for you, or your vehicle they really aren't bothered much anyway.
I suppose this is MET Parking Services, and the limit was 90mins, though how you can spend over 90 minutes in a McD's I don't know.

Presumably the OP is a famous celebrity, whose face will be instantly recognised by the poor sap allocated to ploughing through the CCTV footage?  There's as much naivety about CCTV as there is about CCJs in this game

Ring up on Monday 2nd and get them to cancel it, reminding them that the 'promised they would' as they can cancel some per month and accept that you were a genuine patron.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It was UKPC as the firm!
I would guess that UKPC are not contracted by McDs, as MET Parking are their preferred contractor. Are there other retail outlets serviced by a communal car park?
