EDF Energy Overlapping Bills

Is anyone else being confused by EDF Energy issuing overlapping bills?
I have found it puzzling that EDF Energy will issue a bill and then at some point later issue another bill that overlaps the previous one. While the new bill states that the previous bill is cancelled, the online webpage for bills and payments still shows the previous bill! Furthermore, that same webpage does not show the account balance after each bill or payment entry. (A useful way of checking if the payments are sufficient to cover the energy usage.) Also any payments made are not detailed on bills, but in summary form only. I have constructed my own account summary table to establish the account balance after each payment or bill and now understand why payments need to change.
I would welcome any views from the forum on this matter.

No fan of EDF, but I monitor two accounts of people who are with them and find the website is amongst the best.

How do EDF get your readings - Smart meter or do you supply them ?

I am currently arguing with EDF about this very fact . They sent me a bill from December to September that is totally different to my previous bill and doesn’t correlate . It has ignored my March reading and added an ‘estimated reading that is lower . I have spoken to three members of staff about this and they tell me it’s been corrected then send the same bill again . Not on
y that but the government £66 has been taken off the bill despite my paying by direct debit and not paid into my bank account . I’m totally fed up now , how can you make such a mistake ?
