Really struggling with what to offer

So sorry eve824, but as another person said, keep your offer on the table as it could still fall through.£216 saved 24 October 20140

Sorry - I meant we had written a letter saying how much we liked the property etc and our plans for it (to restore it, not to just build another house there and sell both). I am not sure he sent that alongside the offer. I am certain he sent the offerbadger09 said:
I'm pretty sure they're obliged to submit all offers, unless vendor has set a base below which they don't want to know.eve824 said:
I don't know what the winning bid was. We just got an email telling us our bid was unsuccessful (we've come to expect nothing more from the agency in question). I've been toying with whether to email back and ask how far off we were but I am not expecting them to tell us to be honest. I'm not even convinced they sent our letter accompanying the offer to the executors.badger09 said:Thanks for the update and sorry it didn't work out for you. You obviously offered what you thought it was worth - to you! Have you left your offer on the table in case the sale falls through, or were you too far below the winning bid?

e were outbid on a property, which I found out from the agent we were the second highest, but by some distance. The other offer fell through and the EA came back to us a few weeks later saying the vendors would accept our offer if we still wanted it. By coincidence another property came up on that same day in the same street and we ended up buying that one in the end.Try and find out from the agent where you were in the order of offers, it may yet come back to you.Make £2026 in 2026

I have asked the question, so we will see. Even if I find out what position we were in the order of offers....Slinky said:e were outbid on a property, which I found out from the agent we were the second highest, but by some distance. Thanks, I don't want to get my hopes up as this is the second house that we have lost out on since we sold ours and now there is literally nothing left on the market even remotely suitable. Thinking our buyers will get nervous soon and pull out if we don't find something.0 -
Looking at the plot and the one next to it ,clearly that is the plan to build more on it, the question is will they just level the plot and start again with 2 maybe 3 or more houses ? Beyond the plot size it does not appear overly appealing ?0

This is the key thing:
the house is being sold via probate, the executor is a solicitor and the beneficiaries are all charities.
It's all about best price and reliability of purchase / sale to go through. Sadly, nothing else comes into play with these kind of sales.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Caprikid - that’s exactly it (plus we already live in the village and love it here). We want a large plot of a minimum 0.3 acre and finding that in our search area is difficult. The house was also lovely too, just needed some tlc and a nice extension. We thought we had hit the jackpot when this came up, we walked to the viewing it was so close to where we are now. Oh well. We did our best. Back to the drawing board now.0
