Scottish Smoke Alarm/CO Detector Law Feb 2022 Query - Gas Hob

A quick question, hoping someone knows the answer (although I suppose if I want to be on the safe side better get a new CO detector anyway!)
I guess a gas hob is also classed as a carbon-fuelled appliance and needs a CO detector, but my hob is in the kitchen with the boiler in the utility room next door. The distance from the hob to the current CO detector in the utility room is less than 3 metres, do I really need to buy one more for the kitchen because there's a door separating the rooms? In practice it will be totally redundant (yes I know the door could be closed but almost never is) but to meet the regs is it essential?
