Had a call from 0191 816 2022.
Said they were from the hearing centre and asked if I had received their letter. I said no.
Said they were from the hearing centre and asked if I had received their letter. I said no.
Went on to say it was about me not wearing the correct PPE in a previous job role. I’ve never had to wear PPE.
Then asked if I lived at number 6 still, which I stupidly said yes to, but then realised they never confirmed any other address details.
No bank information, card information etc provided or asked for.
Just said I’d get a letter.
Some sort of scam? Me just been paranoid?

Sounds like ambulance chasing. My dad occasionally got calls like this, he did work in an environment where loud noises were common but they had frequent checks and he showed no hearing loss.1

Just another variation of the 'I've been informed that you have been involved in an accident that wasn't your fault - is that right?' scam.
Bit naughty of me - everyone has to earn a crust - but demanding to know who has breached data protection legislation by passing on my personal information to a third party usually gets them in a right tizz!1 -
These calls are always fun for me if I can be bothered to answer. First thing I do is google the number. 99/100 it's unknown to google which means it's spoofed so I know I have a live scammer. I normally just put in random phrases like "Is this about the nun sanctuary?" , "I had an accident in my trousers". Done on speaker in the office it does make for some amusement.1

If I get a " we understand you have been in an accident" type of calls I ask do they mean the one in which I died. They usually hang up at that point.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)1
