Hi All, I've just discovered sections of floorboard have been cut in teo rooms of the flat. Under both is a strange onion sized purple inky 'thing'. Pictures attached. Before I touch it, any idea what it is?! (Ground floor).

How long have you lived there? If it's under both sections of cut floorboard, someone must have placed them there when the boards were up at some point. Do they smell at all? My guess would be a disgruntled tenant leaving something behind before they left to try and create a bad smell?0

I have just bought the place! The last owner was here for 9 years. They dont smell. The floorboards seem to have been cut unsympathetically to put them there!rob7475 said:How long have you lived there? I agree with the suggestion of a Blue Loo block - the shape formed by the wrapping is quite distinctive. I would use a disposal gloves to pick it up to pop into a bag before disposing off in the bin. If you don't have a glove, drop the bag over the item, pick the item up while turning the bag inside out so that the item is inside the bag.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

I would just take due care when removing - rubber gloves mask etc and double bag and bin it. It could be some type of mouse - rat base thing...but the leaking blue type dye is something else. Hope someone comes up with answer. Keep the photos just in case...0

Maybe a rodent or something died under there and the previous owner put a couple of toilet blocks down to cover up the smell. A bit strange tbh.1

Can you examine it with protection?0
