Working from home tax relief - living with parents

A simple question hopefully!
I have been working from home since March with only a few trips into the office here and there so am looking to claim the tax relief on offer (£124), but just wondered if the fact I was living at my parents home complicates matters or not? (They pay all the bills although obviously I pay them board!)

*edit* another new govt thing.*
The £124 is only if you end up working the full year at home.
I dont think it matters that you live with parents.0 -
Indeed. Honestly for the sake of £20 i cant see why people bother.KatrinaWaves said:You do realise its tax relief on the £124, so 20% of that?
Some self employed people may as well, as they're submitting SA anyway; but whats the point as a one off1 -
I had a wee google as things are always changing and my sums didnt match the OP's, the £124 is the govt saying if you work from home all year then your tax bill will be £124 lower for a full year on BR tax (edit, wrong, £124 on higher rate, £62 on lower rate)Comms69 said:

So its the same thing just the govt are pushing the advertising the tax relief at the moment (probably to detract form all the other useless and detrimental stuff they are doing, but thats another issue!)0 -

There a dedicated portal

Asks a few questions to see if you meet criteria, if you do there's a few questions at the next stage and that's it, they update your tax code.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Plus as Martin said on ITV last night, you only have to work ONE DAY from home in the whole year and you can claim this. (obviously read the conditions.)Signature removed for peace of mind0
