Redundany to Self employment

Options
We had to let a member of staff go she was employed with us for five years and we made her redundant at the start of the coronavirus situation,
Business is doing well again we would like to reemploy her but under a self-employed basis are we allowed?

Yes If you comply with all the employment law and HMRC guidelines so they are not an employee.

If they are smart they will want a rate that compensates for the lack of rights holidays etc.
Double their normal rate is a good estimate.

Might be easier to start with a Zero hours contract if you want them on the cheap and variable to fit the business needs.
