insurance change over

hi quick 1 here, changing my car today,  the insurance co have changed my insurance over today, on askmid its saying my part ex  is now not insured on the d/b, it says on the covering letter i am covered until i step in my new car, but what about on the way to the garage, telling a police officer if i get stopped its still insured wont got down too well i`m sure they will have heard it all before, or will they just call the insurance co up

Most insurers give a 24 hour overlap.

Whilst MID is a convenient way of checking ultimately the insurers confirm/deny if a vehicle is on cover.

Carry the letter with you. If they still don't believe you then they can phone the insurance company.

However, the chance you of you getting stopped on the way to the garage is virtually zero. Law abiding motorists panic about it, but a million drivers are uninsured every day.
