Moto G7 Power text notification sound alert

Thank you for reading my post which I am editing just now.  Although I don't  understand how I managed to put text alert notifictions on silent, I found,  by footering, that I had somehow done that.  I also struggled to find the correct setting but, after my earlier post  now edited, I managed to track it down.
Thankfully it is back to normal now.  I really am not at all good with technology and I'm always glad of your interest and really good help, thank you.

I know you've sorted it, but ... for future info:

Settings > Apps & Notifications > [tap on See All nnnn Apps if necessary] > Tap on the required app > Tap on Notifications > Choose your settings

Notification sound will probably be set in the settings of the app itself.

Thank you Were_Doomed.  I have bookmarked your post as I'm really pleased to have it to refer to - I hadn't  realized  that there was more than one place for settings, thanks.
