Can’t find my stop tap - Could this be it?

Hi, hope this is in the right place. I’m struggling to find my stop tap, I’ve looked everywhere I can think of. The property report states that it is under the sink but the usual stop tap with a handle isn’t there so I just wondered if some stop taps came without handles? Could this be it? Thanks for any help! 0

Is that vertical pipe your water supply? That is a ball valve which you can open / close using a screw driver. Easy to replace this or add a gate valve if you want to.
There should be another isolation valve outside your property."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Given that isolation valve is almost closed I would say no
Can you show us a pic of under your sink and have you checked the cupboards to the left and right of your sink?0 -
Mine is a circular brass valve about half the size of your hand where the pipe enters my garage.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

What's on the other side of that wall? Outside tap that only has a trickle of water would be my guess.

Not necessarily. I had one, but when the pavement was relaid to a new height, United Utilities came out and lifted the cover to match. At the same time they managed to slosh lots of concrete over the valve itself. When I wanted to replace the valve inside the house, I range UU to arrange a repair of the outside valve - and they refused because they said they are not legally required to provide one as they aren't allowed to disconnect houses, so have no requirement for it.missile said:There should be another isolation valve outside your property.0 -
