One benefit for us is a 'free' newspaper when spending £10+.

The Times and Sunday Times are part of the offer.  As the Sunday Times has a cover price of £2.50, it's worth spending £10 on a Sunday.  :)

    Other newspapers are available.
You have to be careful, not all newspaper titles are under the "free" offer
Plus I suppose the monthly Food mag, cover price of £3 I think although I doubt anyone would actually buy one

I see The Sunday Times is now £3. (Gulp!)

A £3 newspaper for £10+ spend looks loyalty-friendly to me.

If the paper price is £3 you only have to spend £7.  It's £10 total for free paper
