Windows Start Menu Not Working

Hello all, My Windows 10 start menu is not opening. I ran through all of these steps on this step-by-step guide provided on the Internet. So no matter what I do, it will not open. I'm not ready to do a fresh install on Windows 10 Pro again because I'm in the middle of my college semester doing my Projects on My Laptop. Does anybody have a solution on how to fix this? I feel like that sometimes when I troubleshoot my PC, I'll troubleshoot to no avail while other people got their problem fix.

Usually looking in the wrong places for information .

Simplest is to restore a backup .

Will start menu open off windows key if you have one .

What "step by step" guide have you found?

This issue in my experience is usually a corrupt user profile.  Note that you can launch programs manually via desktop shortcuts or by browsing to the install directory, the Start Menu isn't the only way to get things going
