Desk/radiator
Not sure if this is the right part of the forum to post, so please bear with
Like many, I have been working at home since March. I now have to move my mini desk away from the electric radiator that is on my wall. My employers are providing me with a larger desk as I've outgrown the one I bought, but this will still have to go in the same position - my house is tiny and I am having to do away with furniture to accommodate.
My question is: Am I ok to place this desk/laptop/screen in front of this hot air circulating radiator if I move it at least 12" away? The heat radiates up more than out.
The desk will have a 14" screen affixed to the top so things won't get knocked off by my cats.
Thanks

In an ideal world you should have nothing blocking the radiator. In reality, you may not have a lot of choice. If you have to put stuff in front of a radiator, leave a gap, ideally 15cm. Some people say the risk of something catching fire is why they don't, but radiators don't get that hot anyway, and to be honest if its a wooden its more likely to warp from the heat. Most types of wood start to burn at 300 degrees C.. If your radiator gets that hot then the rest of the house should be on fire already.0

Thank you! I think if I leave 12" I should be ok. The heat doesn't really disperse much anyway so at least I will be warm whilst working, if nothing else.......Woohoohoohooooooooo0
