So, we attempted to switch providers to Avro back in April 10 days after we moved in to a new rental property. It got rejected due to a balance owed by previous tenants. We were not informed. Meanwhile Avro started taking DD’s anyway. Now I have argued with all three energy companies till I’m blue in the face. It seems we owe the original energy suppliers and Avro should refund the months they were not supplying energy.
upon requesting this from Avro, they have replied asking us to provide meter readings to check the usage is accurate.
from my point of view, they should just return all the money they took prior to the switch, then we can discuss accurate usage from there.
what do you guys think?

Have Avro actually ever supplied your energy? If not, why are they interested in meter readings - they're none of their business.0

Did you register with the incumbent supplier? If not, you'll be on an expensive deemed tariff.Find out who's really supplying you and tell the bank to reverse all the DDs from those that aren't. For electricity, ask your DNO. For gas, use Find My Gas Supplier.0
