Changing from a Economy 7 meter to single tariff

I am currently with Scottish Power (wont be after 30 Nov) and at present have an Economy smart meter. I asked Scottish Power whether they would replace with a single tariff as I have no need for the E7 version. I was told that they have no idea when it could be done due to Covid. I said I was surprised at this as meters are external and no reason to enter main property as distribution board is in the garage.
My question is this, when I change supplier will they be able to install a single tariff meter or will I be told that it is down to Scottish Power to do this? As SP can give no timescale for installion I don`t want to spend another year with them, a couple of months would be ok but no more.
Any info appreciated
TIA

If you have an E7 meter but don't need an E7 tariff you don't need to change the meter.  Many suppliers will happily charge the same single rate for both registers.

Change supplier and then change the meter: nothing to do with SP then.

Thanks for the repilies I didn`t know that you could have the single tariff across the E7 meter.

Neon is Reef is one that does, Bulb is one that doesn't.  Just tell the comparison sites that you don't have E7, then ask your preferred supplier whether they offer single rate with an E7 meter.  If no luck, rinse and repeat.
Note that some comparison sites get confused by Neon Reef because they don't have an E7 tariff, only single rate.
