Home Emergency Cover

I've been with Homeserve for a while and want to change.
We recently had a bathroom overhaul and realised that the repair they did on our toilet hadn't actually worked and water seems to have been seeping into the floorboards for months!  Anyway, i digress. The monthly payments have gone up and up as well.
So, i'm looking for some other cover but have no idea what's out there.
I'd like the standard boiler cover and leaks in the home etc....
Thanks

Home Emergency cover can often be added to home insurance for far less than you would pay a single provider.

With Homeserve you need to call up every year at renewal and say you want to leave, they will often come back with a better offer than the renewal on the paperwork.
This year i cancelled my Homeserve and went with Home Emergency Assist. Paid around £115 for the year for my equivalent Homeserve policy. No call out excess.
Havent had to use them yet, so cant say about the service.

Yep, this is correct. I pay an extra £4.00 a month with my home insurance provider (Halifax) for Home Emergency cover. I actually had to call them out a couple of days ago for a leaking boiler, all fixed and no excess. Homeserve are a waste of money.

Agreed. The premiums they charge a better off put to one side in a savings account and used when something goes wrong. Alternatively, spend the money on a few tools and fix minor problems as they occur.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

Thanks for this, I was just looking into changing as well. Sneaking the charges up to about £60 a month is a total rip off.

£60 a month!?!? Wow! You could buy a new boiler every couple of years for that.

As Freebear rightly said, you’re better off putting it into a savings account every month.
