Halifax PPI claim rejected

Hi guys. I’ve had my claim rejected by the Halifax and not sure on what grounds to appeal. Can I go straight to the ombudsman on the grounds that I had no idea I had ppi on top of the mortgage?

Why did they reject it exactly? You appeal on whatever grounds you feel they have either not addressed properly, they’ve unfairly rejected or ignored. If you’re angling for complaint points that will get you a better chance of compensation then this is potential fraud so be careful.
The good news is that the overwhelming majority of MPPI complaints fail and the FOS are overturning very few of these. MPPI was set up as a separate direct debit to the mortgage, so that’s a very weak complaint point as it’s hard to argue that it was either hidden or you didn’t know you had it.
There’s nothing stopping you going to FOS though, so long as it’s been less than 6 months since Halifax sent you their rejection letter. Set your expectation levels to zero and you won’t be disappointed when FOS find in Halifax’s favour.helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)1 -

That is an unrealistic complaint reason and unlikely to succeed.
Halifax's MPPI was not built into the mortgage. it has a standalone monthly direct debit. So, it would have been very clear you were paying it unless you are monumentally bad at running your finances.
So, what genuine complaint reasons did you have?
