  • Have you enquired about buying the freehold to the flat , then you never have to worry about such silly rules

    Like has been said drying washing outside is good for the environment and good for your flat as you won't have damp washing hanging around

    Tomp, would it even be a visual issue from 'your' garden? How 'private' is the space?

    Being church land (have you checked for whatsits - I'll get the correct term later...?*) is it a particularly attractive area with public access close to the flat and its garden? 

    If so, then a much greater chance it will be enforced.
