Letting agent fees

Had a look at other properties, and the fee amount varies, presumably depending on property price, so don't Think it is a basic disclaimer.
As I said previously, I'm unsure of bringing it up with the agent, as the property seems to have a lot of interest, and I don't want them to reject my application because if it.Then see my earluer advice!(and no, paying it will not change or 'nullify' the law - the link clearly explains how to reclaim an illegal fee.)1 -
I saw similar advt two days back. £96 + vat as admin fee per applicant. Its a residential property and available for Long term, so definitely AST. And I thought isn't it illegal ?

About EAs still unabashedly going and charging illegal fees - is there another way other than paying now and going through gruelling process of reclaiming it back? Anonymous reporting to regulator? any other way?0
