How much is all this costing you in money, time and health ?
it sounds horrendous - you cannot live like that.
Getting somewhere nicer where maintenance is only spent of normal repairs etc will save you money. Things like this take their toll on your health. I’d move out the minute I was offered a fair price
I don’t think I could even quantify the time and health effects this is having. I am constantly tired, stressed and on edge.
this week has honestly need the worst and I am right on the edge and my wits end.

@Norman_Castle I am slightly worried as I bought it from an elderly couple who I believe purchased under the RtB scheme. So I hope they will still consider buying it back.
thank you for your feed back, I would also not buy this flat again, it’s been really painful.

@nora_nora I wish I hadn’t and really I knew pretty quickly that there was a problem neighbour but he left and this last year and a bit has been very difficult.

I can completely sympathise with your situation. We were the only leaseholders in a block of 12 flats. The rest were all council. When we originally bought it (we bought it private not from the council) there were 6 leaseholders and 6 council tenants. Over the years as people looked to move on the council bought back their flats.

We sold ours to the council. It took 16 weeks to go through but that was mainly because there were delays on our onward purchase.

They’re cash buyers so no need for mortgages to potentially fall through. With ours they didn’t even want to look at it before purchasing!
They told us they allocated X amount to each property that they buy. Then once they own it they’ll go in and do work that’s required to make it up to council code i.e. update electrics, boiler etc.

For us it was the best sale as I would never have been able to sell it privately on the open market. They offered us a fair price too. Only 10k less than what an estate agent valued it at and in these uncertain times we bit their hand off!
    good luck!
