Solar Panels - REST UK

So we were looking in to a solar panel system, and got contacted by a company called Rest UK. We had a chat over the phone and they are sending someone to give us an assessment and apparently they can offer no upfront cost payments over time.
Has anyone got any experience with this company, or have solar panels already? have they actually lowered your bills per month? We really want to lower our carbon footprint (We all need to, after all!) but all the other options seem like they are snakeoil, or prohibitively expensive/need a huge chunk of change up front

You will get a lot of advice  on the thread referred to above.   
 We have had solar panels for 11 years.   In my experience the biggest saving comes from the FIT payment , but rates for new installations are negligible compared to what they were. 
To save real money you would need to run your appliances  only when the sun was out and the panels are producing lots of electricity which isn't realistic for many households.
