I HAVE A 3/4 BED MED BUNGALOW AND HAVE BEEN WITH THE SAME ENERGY SUPPLIER FOR 7 YEARS 8 MONTHS.
THEY ARE STATING/INVOICES THAT WE HAVE USED 30886 ELECTRIC UNITS IN A 5 YR PERIOD THAT FOR 2 OF THOSE YEARS WE WERE CONTINUASLY TRAVELING ON A NARROWBOAT BUT OUR SON VISITED/SHOWERED AND FED CATS DAILY AFTER WORK FOR 4HRS BUT STAYED EVERY NIGHT AT HIS GF'S PARENTS HOUSE, WHERE HE DID ALL HIS WASHING ETC . HE LEFT A RADIO ON AND 1 X LIGHT ON BUT THE PROPERTY WAS NOT LIVED IN.
ALSO FOR 6 MONTHS IN THIS PERIOD THE PROPERTY WAS BEING DIVIDED/CONVERTED TO 2 DWELLINGS AND WAS NOT HABITABLE (IE NO ROOF,BOILER,RADIATERS) BUT AGAIN WE WERE ABLE TO LEAVE 1 X LIGHT AND RADIO ON FOR SECURITY PURPOSES AS WELL AS THAT ONLY LIVE PLUG FOR BUILDERS IF REQUIRED BUT NOTHING ELSE! BUT IN TOTAL IS BILLING US FOR 57,000 ELEC UNITS FOR 7YRS 8 MONTHS EVEN AFTER THE ABOVE INFO!
THIS ENERGY SUPPLIER HAS RECIEVED A TOTAL OF 17,668POUNDS IN MONTHLY DD PAYMENTS FOR THIS TIME FRAME AND REFUNDED AFTER WE HAD LEFT 2910PNDS WHICH STILL MEANS THAT THEY HAVE RECIEVED ROUGHLY 14000 PNDS ON OUR DUEL FUEL ACCOUNT THEY HAVE ALSO SENT US 30X CONFLICTING USAGE/CHARGES BILLING INVOICES AND BACK DATED THEM TOO!  
WE HAVE A DIFFERENT START UNIT READING (BUT IN WRONG PLACE ON OUR EX ENERGY PROVIDER STICKER (THAT WAS CLEAR/EMPTY OF PREVIOUS READINGS) OUR READING ON THE LIFE STYLE IN PROPERTY QUOTED IS JUST UNDER 3000 UNITS PER YEAR BUT THIS ENERGY SUPPLIER WILL NOT EXCEPT THIS AND OUR PREVIOUS SUPPLIER CANNOT FIND OUR FINAL READING! THIS SUPPLIER SAYS THAT WE HAVE DEFINATELEY USED OVER
57,000 ELECTRIC UNITS AND WOULD LIKE YOUR PROFFESIONAL EXPERIENCE IF WHAT THEY SAY IS EXCEPTABLE BASED ON THE INFORMATION THAT WE HAVE GIVEN (MORE TO THE POINT THAT WE CAN PROVE!
PLEASE DON,T RECOMEND THE IND OMB THEY HAVE LET US DOWN BADLY AND WE CURRENTLY HAVE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THEM FOR BREECH OF DATA WITH THE ICO.
SADLY THEY ARE NOT SO INDEPENDENT AS THEY ARE FUNDED BY THE ENERGY COMPANIES!
SO PLEASE ANYBODY WITH KNOWLEDGE OF USAGE AND CHARGES BASED ON THE ABOVE ....

Welcome to the forum.

The content doesn't relate to this thread, which is about leaving the heating on all day.

Please delete it and start a separate thread, otherwise it soon gets messy.  And please make it easier to read by including a few paragraphs, and above all don't SHOUT !

I think you are saying your consumption is 57,000 kWh in over 7 years -  if you are using any form of on peak heating that may not be too bad.    Have you still got the actual bills ?   Ae there lots of E's (for estimated on them)

So many questions!  Was there any electric heating or water heating in use?  Do you have meter readings over the 7 years 8 months.  Why not address the high consumption issue after 1 year and not almost 8?

A quick number crunch makes me think you've been paying something like 23-24p per kWh, which is closer to robbery than anything.  Is that really true?

More information/background is going to be needed if anyone is going to be able to help.  And more paragraphs/lass CAPS please!!!!
