Dreams bed claim

Hi, hoping someone can advice me. I bought extended warranty with our dreams tv bed. The system to raise the tv stopped working, dreams sent out an engineer who couldn’t fix it so I was told I would get a replacement bed. The bed we had has been discontinued so I would get a like for like replacement. I’m pretty sure I confirmed with the lady on the phone that the bed was the same colour and was told it was, but even if I didn’t, like for like is not a totally different colour! My bed was cream and they replaced it with a Dark grey bed. This to me is not like for like and at no point was I told I would be getting a totally different colour bed! They are saying they won’t change it. My argument is that if you claimed for damage to your cream carpet you wouldn’t expect them to send a grey one if you are told like for like! I’m not sure where to go from here!!!

Your argument falls apart if they don't make the cream carpet anymore.
You maybe be able to reject the bed but you probably won't get a full refund.0 -
But would you not expect them to tell you what colour the new item is if they are telling you it’s a like for like replacement?0

I understand like for like as being the exact same, no differences. But that's because I'm familiar with consumer rights legislation which stipulate replacements need to be identical.kpickering1 said:But would you not expect them to tell you what colour the new item is if they are telling you it’s a like for like replacement?
However, as already pointed out...you can't force them to offer another replacement and may have to settle for a partial refund
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Or my old bed back! If I had been told that it was totally different colour I would have kept our bed and made do! But I was never told this so made my decision based on miss information0
