I am a part time employee furloughed till end of furlough and a registered carer (with carers allowance) and had an email from employer (a charity) who asked me to to agree to use my holiday allowance after the end of furlough then they would either give us alternative jobs or keep us on paid anyway.  I agreed to that and two days later had a 20 page document from them (all staff had one) saying all part time jobs were going but i could apply for a 30 hour a week job. etc etc with unsocial hours or possibly be
made redundant in January when my holiday entitlement ends. I feel cheated now as I could have kept some of my holiday and had it paid with redundancy. Does being a carer protect me in any way as to being made to do 30 hours antisocial hours too to or be made redundant? Also does it being a charity make any difference to the employment laws?

Also can they offer me a full time job and say I refused to take a job so no redundancy?

If you read the government guidelines on redundancy you will find that they cannot make you redundant based on your pattern of work (part/full time)

Had to point this out to wife's employer, and suddenly she was no longer redundant.
