If your CCTV captures images beyond your property boundary, such as your neighbours’ property or public streets and footpaths, then your use of the system is subject to the data protection laws.

Op concerning spikes to your fence you do need to fit warning sign as they can cause injury, the kit come with one!

All very interesting but how do those principles apply to photographs in public places? Take a ‘selfie’ (or indeed a video) in Trafalgar Square and you’ll likely capture the faces of many other people, but I’ve never heard of tourists being subject to data protection laws.0
