trading and beginners don't go together I'm afraid, might as well flush £50 notes down the toilet, least you can still use it wipe your backside"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

And from personal experience it can be addictive, frustrating, can make you feel like a failure, can affect your mental health.
Options trading is basically an app or game that you buy for perhaps hundreds of pounds to look at charts and guess if they're going to go up or down.

Options are a valuable tool in the investment banking world to tailor people’s risk profiles to their needs, but generally wholly inappropriate for amateur investors.
I trade options for a job, something I’ve been doing for decades now. The type of digital or binary options trading that people see on Facebook or Twitter are pretty much all scams or, at best, gambling like in a casino but with far worse odds.
People are drawn in by the fake profiles of “influencers” claiming to have high-end lives with private jets and a fleet of super cars. None of it is true.4 -

I'd add to that the OP should only consider letting their son gamble with options trading if he can understand Black-Scholes, because if he's that clever he'll understand why he shouldn't.

Robinhood were only going to be offering basic share dealing, they were not planning to bring options trading.
Options trading is not a good shout unless you are a bit more experienced. For UK you are best off googling it and you will find a few providers who offer low commission. IFree options trading isn't a thing here.
