Laying wood flooring and skirting

We have had several independent contractor quotes of £1000 for laying floor only, one to do both £1600 (or £40 per hour) and the retail shop quote £1416 for labour only.
The floor is 30m² with issues like an alcove, french doors and an area which is not level.
The floor needs to be levelled, floating on underlay.
We are in SE within M25

I'm getting a similar job done in Bristol for similar size but also including a staircase. i am paying 1500 for the labour. 600 of that is the staircase.
I suspect if the bits that aren't level are a nuisance that sounds about right.0
