Smart Price disappearing from the shelves
I don't shop in Asda very often but as I like some of their own Smart Price items I need to go in to get them but they have gone from the shelves.
Is this just a seasonal thing or is it a permanent change like Morrisons did a few years ago?
One of the items I get is the Smart Price instant hot chocolate, the regular Asda hot chocolate is all right but not as good tasting and apart from costing more, you need to use more in the cup.

I've noticed that asdas smart price products haven't been available to me online for a while such as bags of pasta for 37p.
Today I searched for the word 'Stockwell', the brand they use for really cheap veg soup and baked beans etc. and it returned 0 results.

I think you'll find that Stockwell is cheapo Tesco not Asda. 🤔7

I think production of a lot of staples that were in high demand during lockdown such as pasta was re-jigged, so that rather than producing a whole slew of different supermarket own brands, factories concentrated on producing a single branded product that could be sold everywhere, as this was a more productive way of getting the maximum amount of product out across the maximum number of retailers.

You want to search for SmartPrice still at Asda, they haven't changed their value brand to a fake brand as others have yet.
I think with the pasta shapes PoohSticks is right, after the panic buying the factories have concentrated on fewer different lines. Also most pasta is imported from Italy so there pay be delays.
Spaghetti is the only smartprice pasta that seems to be found https://groceries.asda.com/product/spaghetti-tagliatelle/asda-smart-price-spaghetti/392270

Had Smartprice choc mousse delivered. If you order online you'll get a subs which could be better brand for same cost if available online but missing when trolley items picked.0

Asda aren't always good at restocking their shelves, been a problem for years. It doesn't mean they aren't stocked, only not on the shelves. Best clue is if there is a pricing label on the shelf then it would indicate it is still a current item.0

They have moved the ordinary hot chocolate into the place where the Smart Price one was so label changed.0

Very recently bought SP instant custard, and SP curry sauce in a jar. But you are right about them getting harder to find, that, and that they do tend to remove them to make way for Xmas items. .......and just this weekend I bought tins of Morrisons Savers custard 25p. I don't rely on finding these 'value' products, but when I see them I stock up.

Guess its like Tesco - All of their offers have started dissapearing. The ones that remain you have to mess about with a Clubcard just to get the offer price.1
