Aftermarket warranty who to choose?

Remember when buying an aftermarket warranty, the retailer receives up to 50% of the premium as commission so, if you deduct that, then deduct some profit for insurer and admin fees, the amount you are left with is roughly the average amount of payouts.0

This Motoreasy warranty was a waste of money!
I saw the reviews but didn’t notice that most of the positive review are for the insurance side of the company, most of the negative reviews are for the warranty side, I now know why.In a period of about 14 months of paying premiums I had put in two claims (nether was for a lot of money), both claim’s were rejected under stupid rules in the very small print. If I had known this company has such ridiculous T&C in the small print I would have never wasted my money with them.
I tried to speak with them about the two repairs and how both should have been accepted in real world conditions but Motor easy was having non of it. Basically the small print T&C’s give ‘s them the excuses to reject just about every claim you put in.Total waste of money.

Wife bought a 2011 car from a dealer (used car dealer - not a manufacturer franchised dealer) in 2018.
Long story short - dealer messed her about a bit, and threw in a 12 month 3rd party warranty for free.
Fast forward 11 months, and the power steering packed up. Fearing the worst, we put the claim for the repair through the warranty company and they paid out no questions asked, and for the full amount even though the bill was over the single claim limit laid down in the contract.
FWIW the warranty co. was Blue Chip.0 -
I’ve kept up my Peugeot extended warranty from year three.
Now it’s 8 in September and will get two more years warranty until 10 years old.
Still a pain to claim.
Washers would not reach the screen.
Dealer said, blocked due to scale, never used tap water only deionised water and screen wash.
Went back after my mechanic took a whole 90 seconds to find a split pipe.
That was covered, pointed it out only for dealer to say blocked jets.
I covered the split with my hand squirting the jets and covered him in washer fluid.
Then they fixed it.
Next claim was adblue fault with countdown.
No Peugeot dealer would even look at the car for 6-8 week, then 6-8 week to get it in and fixed.
I called every dealer within a 30 mile radius.
Ended up driving 65 miles to Littlehampton, 3 days later.
Scanned, tank was the issue, ordered. Fitted next week.
Great service. It’s cost me £1700 for extended warranty so far.
Repairs cost, Peugeot prices, £2400.
Next car will be a Toyota as 10 year warranty included, just get it serviced with them.0 -
I'm on my fourth year with a Peugeot Warranty on a 6 year old car. At the MOT in February it failed on rear discs and pads - discs were covered under warranty and it was all done automatically by the dealership doing the MOT. Didn't have to claim. Saved me £300 on the bill. It was free first year, then roughly £300 on average over the other 3 years, so it's still cost me £600 net for 4 years cover. Might not bother when it ends this October, and just save my money after that. Only kept it going as my last car's demise wasn't pretty so didn't want to be left sans car again.0

I mean, all used car warranties are a gamble that your car is going to be MUCH less reliable and more expensive than the warranty company expect. After all, they sell it to make a profit from your premium minus their sale/commission/admin/office/tax/etc costs... and, of course, claims paid.0 -
