New job

Hi
I’m on universal credit at the moment and due to start a job on Saturday (thank god) , the company has been closed completely since March, only reopening this morning. If I started Saturday and worked my weekend shift, then by some crappy turn of events the company had to close again (Greater Manchester) does anyone know if I’d be able to get this new furlough type of scheme? And if I did, how would it affect my UC?
Thanks in advance 😊

You have to be on the payroll by 23 September 2020 to be able to be put on either the "original" job support scheme, or the extension of JSS to premises made to close due to government restrictions.0

So, do you have any idea what might happen if I start on Saturday, on the pay roll, then the company gets forced to close again? Would I land back on just universal credit or is there something else I could possibly get, gosh it’s a struggle on UC to make ends meet. I can see there’s possibilities of tighter restrictions coming you see. I’m already living in a tier 3 area, my job is located on the outskirts of Greater Manchester, which is likely next🥺

That's an old link and there's no such thing as "live service" areas now. If the OP's claim closes then they can make a rapid reclaim by logging into their journal. They would keep their existing assessment periods. In normal times if their entitlement reduces to zero because of earnings a claim can close but that may not happen because of Covid.

Your UC will adjust to take into account any earnings you receive during the UC assessment period. It is the date you receive the earnings that matters, not the days you work in order to earn them.alison1971 said: And if I did, how would it affect my UC?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
